Buttermilk biscuits

Hey guys,

I’ll make a category called “Favorite Recipes”, which will be dedicated for the recipes I made and I found them interesting to share them with you.

So I’m starting today with one of my all time favorite recipes which is “Buttermilk Biscuits”.

I love this type of bread & I always order it whenever I was in a restaurant! it’s so delicious! “Not a very healthy choice” but from time to time you have to spoil yourself 😀

Here is the recipe for you guys;


4 cups of flour

4 tsp of baking powder

1 tsp of baking soda

tsp of salt

1 tsp of sugar

1 cup of butter

2 cups of buttermilk

How to:

First, add all the dry ingredients together and whisk them. Then, cut the butter, add it to the mixture and mix them all up with your fingers until you feel that the butter is mixed properly (minuter will look like the picture shown – like flaky biscuits).


After that add the buttermilk and mix until you have a nice non sticky paste ( do not over mix). At this point you can add something to give some flavor (dill, chocolate chips if you wanna make it sweet, cheese, garlic) or you can make them plain as well.


The garlic & dill are for flavors, cheese for stuffing & this is the drinkable yogurt I’m gonna use instead of the butter milk


Bring a board, add flour, put the paste on top and start cutting the pieces.


You can shape them the way you like. You can either cut them with a cup or a cutter, put them in the cup cake baking tray, any other way will work (Sometimes I stuffed them with feta cheese – mozzarella – halloumi cheese).




After that place the tray in a pre-heated oven at 350º and bake until they are golden or light brown.
